Description
Fourteen lines can hold a lot.
A work voice. A good shirt. A grocery receipt. A body trying not to look uncomfortable. A marriage becoming logistics. The cost of appearing effortless.
Sonnets Under Pressure is Kabal Monthlyโs September micro e-chap (No. 03): fourteen contemporary sonnets using inherited forms to examine professionalism, beauty, money, love, clothing, class, and the private labor hidden beneath polish.
Some rhyme. Some refuse. Some turn exactly where tradition says they should. Others wait until the poem is almost over.
The form stays visible throughout because that is part of the point. Pressure becomes easier to see once somebody draws a box around it.
